THE OPPORTUNITY
Netflix seeks a seasoned, intellectually curious business and legal affairs executive to join our team in Taipei, Taiwan. This role will handle business and legal affairs for our Chinese-language content initiative that licenses, commissions, and markets Chinese-language films and series for Netflix’s global streaming service. The successful candidate will serve as a key collaborator to Netflix’s Chinese-language content and marketing teams and will be responsible for providing clear, actionable, and strategic business and legal affairs advice to drive business objectives. Additionally, they will be responsible for structuring, negotiating, drafting, and closing content deals; providing legal support for production and marketing for Chinese-language films and series; and building and managing internal and external relationships with key content and production partners.
The ideal candidate is excited and inspired by Netflix culture and eager to be part of an entrepreneurial, global organization. They are comfortable working proactively and making decisions that have both business and legal impact. This is a demanding, fast-paced role that requires curiosity and significant initiative.
This position will be based in Taipei, Taiwan, with periodic international travel, including to Netflix’s office in Singapore.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate must have fluency in English and Mandarin, with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively in both languages. Demonstrated native-level written proficiency in Chinese is required.
This person must have experience advising on business and legal issues in the entertainment, media, and/or intellectual property industries. Experience drafting and negotiating contracts in the Chinese-language film or television industry in Taiwan (in licensing, production, financing, and/or distribution) is required.
