Bachelor
Lead a team responsible for developing system software for storage devices and servers in Google data centers; drive all aspects of development including requirements definition, design, implementation, integration, test, release, monitoring, and sustaining.
Discover opportunities for improvements in programs and workflows for better productivity and quality, and help the teams to create and deploy the improvement plans.
Define a team structure, develop skills, offer mentorship, and recruit new members, to cultivate a growth mindset culture and grow the team.
Act on behalf of the team to influence executive decisions, collaborate with partners, define and implement the best known practices, and contribute innovative ideas and skills to the team.
Drive partnerships with various external component suppliers and manufacturing service providers (Contract Manufacturer (CM), Joint Development Manufacturer (JDM), Original Design Manufacturer (ODM)/Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM)).
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in system software development in C/C++.
7 years of experience in a people management, supervision/team leadership role.
Experience with software engineering practices, including release management, test automation, and quality assurance.
Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in storage software stack, like system utilities, file systems, device drivers, and controller firmware.
Experience in storage devices and interfaces, such as Hard Disk Drive (HDD), Solid State Drive (SSD), Network Attached Storage (NAS), Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA), Serial Attached SCSI (SAS), and Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe).
Experience in enterprise storage servers, performance analysis, reliability engineering, and virtualization/acceleration.
Experience in large-scale and secure fleet management of servers and components.
Experience with Linux environments.
