Overview The Windows & Devices Sales (WDS) team unites the creation and delivery of Windows and device solutions to drive customer satisfaction globally. We work closely with a diverse ecosystem of partners (Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), device distribution and reseller channels, Original Design Manufacturers (ODM), and Silicon providers) and customers to ensure innovative solutions reach every market and segment.
Opportunities in WDS are expansive. We span the entire product lifecycle from incubation, prototyping, and portfolio planning to the device design, and selling them through the Retail, Distribution and Reseller channel, sell-through to their consumer and commercial customers. As a member of our team, you will be part of growing a multi-billion-dollar business, charting new areas of innovation, and contributing to our partnership engagements worldwide. You will play a pivotal role in driving the sales and growth of Windows devices and AI services in partnership with the strength of our device partner ecosystem.
As a Commercial Technology Strategist, you are the technical expert and primary enabler of the Windows Specialist Sales team, and the regional commercial portfolio expert for Windows Commercial devices. You provide strategic guidance, technical expertise, and market insights that help Specialists accelerate customer growth and retention, defend Windows share, and drive revenue.
Leveraging deep expertise across Windows, silicon platforms, device portfolios, and OEM ecosystems, you connect Specialists to Portfolio, Silicon, Investments, Engineering, and OEM technical sales teams to maximize sales effectiveness, while carrying regional and customer intelligence back into the Portfolio organization to influence roadmap, investment, and go-to-market priorities. Responsibilities
- As the regional portfolio expert, you will be the recognized go-to person in your region for Windows commercial portfolio insights and advice, translating roadmap, pricing, and positioning into clear guidance Specialists and account teams can act on.
- You will enable detection and prioritization, supplying the technical and portfolio signal (installed base health, silicon roadmap timing, device fit) that helps Specialists identify platform risk, Mac and other competitive OS switching propensity, and strategic opportunities.
- You will arm Specialists to shape and inspire, equipping them with L300 Windows, security, AI-readiness, and TCO content, and building the evidence base for envisioning, demos, and business cases.
- You will drive fix and improve motions, triaging deployment, management, silicon, and device blockers at technical depth and pulling in the right Portfolio, OEM, and engineering resources to drive customer confidence.
- You will fuel defend and expand, providing compete depth , Windows Advantage positioning, and portfolio and OEM options that Specialists use in deal interventions.
- You will connect the ecosystem, serving as the trusted bridge between Specialists and our Portfolio, Silicon, and Investments teams and the OEM technical sales teams, establishing clear roles, handoffs, and escalation paths.
- You will close the feedback loop, acting as the voice of the region and the customer back into the Portfolio team, and channeling regional demand signals, customer requirements, competitive intelligence, and RFP patterns into portfolio, silicon, investment, and go-to-market decisions.
