We are seeking a highly motivated MCU Application Engineer with a hybrid skill set covering general‑purpose MCU application engineering and Digital Power expertise. This role supports customers and internal teams by enabling MCU‑based systems that integrate power management, DC‑DC control, and embedded firmware.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert-level technical support to customers using Renesas MCU and digital power products (PMICs, digital controllers, power SoCs)
Perform board bring‑up, MCU peripheral configuration, and system‑level debugging
Assist customers with digital power solutions including DC‑DC converters, PMICs, and MCU‑based power control
Develop, debug, and optimize embedded firmware in C/C++ (bare‑metal or RTOS)
Develop Proof-Of-Concept solutions and technical collaterals combining MCU and power solutions
Design and tune digital control loops (voltage, current, power factor, multi-phase systems)
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to control stability, efficiency, EMI, transient response, and thermal performance
Collaborate with FAEs, marketing, and BU engineering teams to support design‑ins and customer escalations
Deliver technical trainings, workshops, and customer presentations on digital power solutions
BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering (MS preferred)
8+ years of professional industry experience in embedded systems and digital power applications
Strong experience in embedded MCU firmware development (C/C++)
Hands‑on experience with digital power or power management systems
Preferred Skills
RTOS experience (FreeRTOS, Azure RTOS, etc.)
Solid understanding of MCU peripherals and communication protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, Ethernet)
Strong understanding of digital control theory for power electronics
Familiarity with Control loop compensation, PID / digital compensators, ADCs, PWMs, comparators, timers
Experience with power system debugging (efficiency, transient response, thermal, EMI/EMC)
Familiarity with industrial or IoT applications (factory automation, energy, power infrastructure)
Experience developing reference boards, evaluation kits, or demo systems
Prior AE / FAE or customer‑facing engineering experience
Excellent English communication skills; proactive, agile, and results-oriented mindset
